Here is the second part of our 2016 Color of the Year article. In the previous post, we talked about rose quartz - a mineral with a pale pink to red rose hue with a subtle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. Now, we will talk about its partner for color of the year - serenity.
It is impossible not to take into a liking for any shade of blue. And serenity is not one to dismiss. Pantone Color Institute Executive Director, Leatrice Eiseman describes Serenity as a weightless and airy color that can be likened to the blue sky. Its calming effect provides comfort and a feeling for respite even in turbulent times. Serenity provides a innate connection to nature with its transcendent blue hue. The calming blue color of Serenity works well on its own but it can also be paired with other colors such as buttercup yellow, snorkel blue, peach echo and of course rose quartz.
