Wedding Color Inspiration: Yellow and Gray

Happy Greetings to all our Lots of Love Readers!

We celebrate love all year round and we get excited when we hear news about wedding preparations. With all the wedding help guides available in magazines and the internet, picking a wedding theme could be a daunting task for a bride-to-be. That is why from time to time, we feature different wedding themes to help brides-to-be find inspiration and useful tips for their own weddings.

For this article, we are featuring yellow and gray. Yellow is a happy and vibrant color that's warm, welcoming, exuding fun and action. Gray, on the other hand, is a popular choice for a neutral color because of its modern appeal. Paired together, yellow and gray make a great color palette for a fall wedding.

Here are some great ideas for a yellow and gray wedding:

Wedding Invitation - Play with texture by combining fabric and paper in gray and yellow.

Celebrate the happy occasion by walking down the aisle with a simple bouquet of yellow flowers

Here's a clever idea for your "something old": wrap an old embroidered hanky around the wedding bouquet.

Complete the grooms' modern and sleek attire with a striped tie and billy button boutonniere.

Go retro with a cute yellow bow tie and suspenders.

Thinking of the perfect gift for your bridesmaids? Why not give them matching wedding shoes they could wear for the occasion!

The guys would definitely look cool in matching yellow sneakers!

Adorn the aisle with paper pom poms instead of flowers.

Incorporate fun activities for guests to do at your wedding.

Here are some creative table centerpieces: stack lemon in tall clear vases. Slice some, place them in clear short vases and fill them with yellow flowers.

Go shabby chic and use chalkboard signage for the table numbers

Help guests find their way to their tables by mounting a Seating Chart at the entrance of the wedding reception venue.

And pack some for guests to bring home and enjoy even after the party.

Wedding Color Inspiration: Cayenne

Colorful greetings to all our Lots of Love Readers!

We bring you another color inspiration for your wedding: Cayenne. Described as a “high-pitched red which adds a spicy heat to neutrals.” Cayenne has a deeper color than coral and a much bolder appeal. This Pantone Spring Color for 2014 adds a lovely pop to any wedding.

Try these lovely wedding ideas:

Add a splash of color to the bride's wedding gown with a bouquet of assorted flowers and a boutonniere for the groom.

Cayenne is a bold color on its own. So try using it in various gradients for a more subtle look on the wedding entourage.

Bridesmaids will love to walking down the aisle with these lovely shoes and well polished nails in cayenne.

Surprise your friends and guests by giving them balloons they could inflate on their own and read about your wedding announcement. You can also send out this funky engagement party invitations. Later, you can give out coasters as souvenirs to your guests for being part of the celebration.

Combine flowers in bloom like orange red orchids, cayenne bright orange roses to make lovely bouquets and floral arrangements.

Serve guests some refreshments at the wedding reception. Try this grapefruit drink for a homey feel or a red currant cosmopolitan drink for some flare.

Throw in a table napkin in the motif of the wedding together with the table setting and the menu.

Wedding Guest No-No's

Hello!

Today we would like to help all wedding guests with their attire for upcoming weddings. Actually, we would like to help with what not to wear.

We will start with the ladies...

First things first: No White!!!!!!! Unless you're the one getting married, you should not be wearing white. We know that a bride will stand out regardless of the style of gown she wears, but the color is one way she stands out. Also, c'mon, just let her wear her white! When a guest wears white it looks disrespectful towards the bride.  The universal wedding etiquette is if the bride is wearing white, then you don't.

Second no-no: over-the-top gowns. Of course, dress up to the formality of the wedding you are attending, but ladies, ladies, ladies, less is more!

Third: we just told you that less is more, but keep it classy! We know you're a woman. You don't need to reveal too much of your assets.

Fourth: it's a wedding not a movie night. Dress like you respect the person enough to put some effort into it.

Last but not least, no boots! Unless you're a super hero there is no need to be wearing boots with your outfit.

Ok guys it's your turn!

We'll start with the shoes! No tennis shoes! Yes, dress shoes aren't as comfy as throwing on a pair of your sneakers. But, take a look at women's shoes, if we can do it you can definitely do it!

Secondly, please wear socks. If you're not wearing socks don't go out of your way to show you're not wearing any.

Third: no jeans. Boys, let's not forget where we're going. It's a wedding! Picture the groom wearing jeans and ask yourself if that looks appropriate.

Fourth: unless there's a flood, there is no reason why your pants shouldn't be covering your ankles.

Last but not least, tuck in your shirts! It looks sloppy when you don't tuck in your shirts at a wedding.

Well, there you have it. Please do not make these mistakes! We see this too often, and would hate to see any of you in these fashion don'ts...

Lots of Love,
Susan
